The format for first aid is different this year. Each team has responsibility so please read carefully:
1) TEAM REP
Each team must select a person who will be in charge if someone gets hurt. This person is NOT required to be certified in first aid. This person will:
* Bring a cell phone to the bench in case emergency services are required urgently. (check for service)
* Send runners for rink staff or the AED (automatic external defibrillator) if required. Both rinks have them.
* Get help or supplies for the person who needs assistance.
2) FIRST AID SUPPLIES
Each score keeper booth will have a first aid kit. Please feel free to use whatever you need and return it to the score keeper when you are finished.
There will be a self serve First Aid table with supplies and ice upstairs at York and near the Merch table at De La Salle.
Supplies include:
* Tylenol and Ibuprofen
* Tensor bandages
* Bandaids, gauze and tape
* Skin closures
* Gloves and masks
* Throat lozenges
* Etc.
3) VOLUNTEERS
Please note rink staff are certified in first aid and can always help.
Lynn Tougas is a Summit player and kinesiologist and has volunteered to provide her services for taping injuries etc. Look for her in a First Aid jersey or hat.
There will be other Summit volunteers available periodically throughout the weekend. They will have the first aid jersey or hat on.
If anyone on your team is willing to provide first aid to players while watching games they can pick up a jersey or hat at the self-serve First Aid table or talk to Sal from the Black Hearts.
